Author proposals - we welcome new and established voices.

Published & New Authors

Are you a published author with a subject you think might be a good fit for Still Center Media? We welcome proposals from previously published and new authors alike.

If you have not been published before but have an expertise or interesting perspective, we'd like to hear from you too.

Submitting a Proposal

To send a proposal, get in touch via the contact form and let us know the general topic you're considering. Please include a 1–2 paragraph summary and a 300–500 word bio noting any key audiences you're likely to reach.

If we think it's a match, we'll invite you to submit a proposal which generally includes:

• A brief query (cover) letter - summary and bio explaining why you're writing this book now, why people will want to hear it from you, and any lists or groups you're part of that represent existing audiences.

• An annotated chapter outline.

• Comparable titles.

• A sample chapter or two. (If you don't have this yet, let us know - we may still be able to work with you to help you get there.)

• Your curriculum vitae, including a list of previous publishing credits.

We consider submissions on a rolling basis, though we only have a limited number of publishing slots each year. Please reach out now if you're thinking of something in the next 3–12 months - that lets us begin the conversation early.

Comps - what fits our list

Take a look at our catalog for the shape of what we publish. We're drawn to clarity over performance - Advaita Vedānta, self-inquiry, classical Yoga, practical psychology in service of waking up, and the meeting place between contemplative traditions and contemporary life.

Values

Freedom from suffering, which means knowledge of what's Real. Peace on Earth, peace in our homes and communities, and peace of mind - predominant sattva and a psychology that addresses suffering at its root.
